I am flattered! 

I think! 

Many news outlets, individuals, RINOS and liberals attack my blog daily and this is one of those days.

I am ok with this seriously. The author of the blog in question, Rod Williams from a Disgruntled Republican has offered up a critique of a recent blog post from the Bradley County News.

In the first sentence, it is obvious he is not pro anything conservative or even a hint of tea party-ish! 

He levels that Republicans  should distance themselves from “nut jobs” like those on the “fringe” or extreme right of the party. My response to that and I quote Julia Roberts from the most excellent film Pretty Woman, “Big, huge mistake!” With this huge voting block isolated and thrown away no Republican or Independent can win without that percentage of voters. None or at least very few!

In the opening sentence and two or three times after “wacko-nut job” is my new blogging title, like I’ve not heard that before.  

Mr Rob Williams, via a Zimbio platform, and I’m assuming this, but I’m afraid he doesn’t like me addressing the many actions of our very left leaning Governor and his seemingly compliant nature with Sharia Law and it’s implementation.

It’s like somehow if you attack and attempt to discredit those shedding the truth it will somehow not be true!

In the article he published and I can assure you it’s a good read despite the title of the lead in story is
misspelled (God forbid, I call the kettle black, it’s easy to do) and the blog is missing the details of the timeline, the facts about Haslams actions in Tennessee, just a few minor details, it’s still worth reading.

But dont fret! Through the very interactive blogosphere, and my kids still make fun of my computer skills, or lack thereof, I can repost anything from my prior posts like a pro.

This blogger was so caught up in pointing out the reasons he didn’t like the blog that he left the details out, the truth, the proof, the timeline! Remember, he called me a “wacko nut job!”

There is a reason that the Tennessee Eagle Forum Facebook page and Tennessee Federation of Republican Women Facebook page and National sites such as Creeping Sharia and Pamela Geller picked up this blog and posted! It’s because it contains truth, is factual and definitely shows that at the very least TN Governor Bill Haslam is paving the road so Sharia Law can creep into our communities, essentially making Tennessee another Saudia Arabia. Look below at what was left out of the blog by Mr Williams. 

He states he was remiss to bring this to light for fear of it drawing attention to this subject and I quote, “I am not sure I should repost this because by calling attention to it is to promote it. On the other hand, I want those who may not know how the nut-jobs are attacking our governor and how they are spreading irrational fear to see an example of what is being spread” .Duh, this is the desired result! Shine a light on it Mr Williams, at least on my blog that is my intent, good or bad press gets my readers from 164 countries, 150,000 readers deep the info they desire! Post and repost! Please! 

Most of my readers are likeminded and share my views, even disgruntled Republicans who are fed up with the way they are running things in the state of TN!

The timeline was conveniently left out of his blog, but I have delicately, like a surgeon, I may add, posted it below!

2009- Haslam was formerly a member of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition with Mayor Bloomberg (NY) but resigned early in 2009 and became a member of the National Rifle Association just in time to run for office of Governor.

March 2009- Thousands of Somali refugees from United Nations refugees arrive in Shelbyville. Quickly growing to 63,000 under Bill Haslams reign with nearly a billion dollar taxpayer tag.

November 2, 2010- Republican Bill Haslam has been elected Tennessee’s 49th governor, overcoming his rival’s claims that he was a “billionaire oil man” and has his own controversial statements on gun rights.

2011 Legislative session – anti-terrorism bill introduced based on the Carlos Bledsoe case (Memphis man who shot and killed Pvt. Andrew Long at the Little Rock Army recruiting center.)

May 2011- Tenn: DOJ submits teachers, principals, police to Muslim “sensitivity” training

June, 2011 – picture emerges confirming that the Muslim Rapid Response Team (which morphed into the TN American Muslim Advisory Council) had been working behind the scenes during the legislative session with TN DHS James Cotter.  This was the group that had formed to lobby against the anti-terrorism bill.

November 7, 2011 – Commissioner Bill Gibbons (TN Department of Safety and Homeland Security), sends congratulatory letter to the AMAC members for organizing along with the Governor- approved partnership with TN DHS.

November 2011- Regarding comment that all Muslims should be purged from the US military. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam (R) told The Nashville Scene, “I don’t think I would agree with Rick on that.” But when pressed to denounce Womick’s comments, as Muslim community groups have been urging, Haslam came up short, saying “I don’t know that’s my role. I would just say that on that issue I don’t agree with Rick.” 

December 2011:  When asked whether Governor Haslam had appointed a Muslim advisory board, Tennessee GOP Chairman Chris DeVaney responded that he had ”checked into this and apparently there is no truth to it.  It must be some kind of rumor.“

December 2011 – AMAC partners with the TN DHS to do first law enforcement training.

December 2011- Sumner County School system-Tennessee mom finds Islam in kid’s textbook, Sharia compliance discussed. 

2012 legislative session – Commissioner Gibbons, testifies in support of an administration bill permitting the TN DHS to enter into partnership agreements with private non-profit organizations like the AMAC.

February 2012 – AMAC partners again with TN DHS for law enforcement training; TN DHS refuses to disclose any information about the AMAC.

March 2012- Judge allows defendants in underage sex trafficking ring Muslim prayer breaks during trial. Muslim immigrants involved.

March 2012 – In reference to SB 2237/HB 2375 which would exclude Tennessee state government from partnering/entering into contracts with organizations like AMAC, Attorney General Cooper issues an opinion stating “…it is the opinion of this Office that the proposed amendment which would add an exclusion providing that no partnership or contractual agreement shall be entered into with any religious or political organizations, or any affiliate organizations, is constitutionally defensible.”

April 2012- Bill Gibbons, Tennessee State Commissioner of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS), establishing a partnership with a religious NGO, the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) which has ties to local Muslim Brotherhood leaders via the American Center for Outreach (ACO). ACO is a Tennessee-based, non-partisan organisation that was established to inform, educate and empower Muslims to become engaged in society by providing the assistance and guidance the community needs.

May 2012- Governor vetoes bill that would have protected Christian student organizations at Vanderbilt and state universities.

May 2012- Nashville: 3 convicted, 6 acquitted in Somali sex trafficking case. Sex trafficking is quickly becoming a major problem in TN after Somali refugees transferred to Nashville, TN.

May 2012 – Governor approves appointment of Shariah Compliant Finance specialist Samar Ali as Economic and Community Development (ECD) International Director with known ties to Muslim Brotherhood and International Arab Bank.

May 2012 – AMAC trains TN Dept of Children’s Services.

May 2012- Refused to sign the Agenda 21 resolution passed by the state legislature (note that all Republicans voting in both the House and Senate voted yes).

July 20, 2012 – Full-page ad in The Tennessean of the Resolution opposing Governor Haslam’s administration partnership with the AMAC and the hiring of Shariah Compliant Finance Specialist, Samar Ali

July 2012- Williamson County Republican Party, the Stewart County Republican Party, the Carroll County Republican Party have submitted a resolution stating “The Governor of the Great State of Tennessee and his administration have demonstrated a consistent lack of conservative values. Mainly over his hiring of Sharia Compliance expert Samar Ali.

July 2012- GOP state Senate candidate Woody Degan of Shelby County charged the Haslam administration was “making our Economic Development Department Sharia compliant,” in part by hiring Ali as international director earlier this year.

August 24, 2012 – After listening to Islamic Networks Group (ING) founder speak on the subject of “Women and Shariah”, ACO intern Jihan Abdulla tells The Tennessean that as Muslim woman she feels like she has more rights than American women

August 2012 – Islamic Networks Group (ING) provides AMAC-sponsored training for their Islamic Speakers Bureau

September 2012 – James Cotter, the TNDHS Regional Advisor who met with the MRRT in June 2011 and who claims that approval for the AMAC went to the Governor, is promoted to the position of State Training Advisor

September 2012 – AMAC co-chairs Daoud Abudiab and Zulfat Suara join the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) Board of Directors

February 2013- Libraries all across the state of Tennessee recieve National Endowment for the Humanities grants, which is financing the “Muslim Journeys” books/videos series to be placed in Tn libraries. The books are “intended to address both the need and desire of the American public for trustworthy and accessible resources about Muslim beliefs and practices and the cultural heritage associated with Islamic civilizations”

May 2013- Al-Jazeera plans to open a news bureau in Nashville.The Tennessean reports the news organization that bought Al Gore’s Current TV for $500 million earlier this year has said it will begin broadcasting Al-Jazeera America sometime late this summer. Vanderbilt religious studies lecturer Abdulkadir Gure said Nashville probably was chosen because it is geographically, politically and demographically central.

June 2013- Sends DOJ and FBI to prepare Manchester residents for acceptance of Sharia into their communities and to warn of negative posts about Islam on social websites you may face fines and imprisonment. Haslams office denies any knowledge of diversity event in Manchester TN.

The journey you just took should be more than enough to convince you that Governor Haslam has someone in his pocket. The “bank” so to speak should be obvious and should be enough to make you ask him some questions. Let’s assume he is not listening. While his head is turned let’s elect someone that cares about Tennesseeans!

I am assuming Mr Williams left the timeline out of his blog because it contained the truth and by including the timeline on Governor Haslams actions would perhaps somehow implicate the Governor with his a actions through association as I have.

The moral of this story! Speak the truth, support the facts and inform the masses regardless of the opposition.

Remember, “Where the flak is heaviest, it confirms the target!”

Haslam and Huffman sweep into a public school, select taxpaying citizens ousted with police escort.

Breaking News:  11/8/13

Governor Bill Haslam and TN Secretary of Education Kevin Huffman whisk into town, the general public is not allowed in their vicinity.

It could be called “Gestapo” like as taxpaying citizens were profiled then escorted out of a public school library where Huffman and Haslam were within minutes of speaking.

The site, the Cleveland Middle School in Cleveland Tennessee, the provocateur principal Mike Collier.

A couple of concerned parents, who happen to be Veterans who fought in foreign wars, taxpayers and coincidentally independent reporters  were attempting to attend a public meeting of which they wanted to attend, to gather information. 

Mike and I have covered events across the nation and have even ventured where most men dare trod to get you the truth. 

We were immediately given access to the building then denied the right to stay and listen to the Governor and his Secretary of Education because many labeled us a disruptive or combative although our records are clean of that charge.

A sunny afternoon it was and the mood in the main office area jovial with many suits and a strong police presence felt in room. 

When entering the room my escort and myself were met with many friendly faces and were asked if we were with the press, we signed in, were given our pass, our sticker which we quickly attached to our lapels of our shirts.

Police quickly shuffled us in as the guest speakers were soon to be arriving. 

The ease of entry was surprising which left  me and Mike at ease because after all, a publicly announced meeting inside a taxpayer funded school should be this easy. Concerned, law abiding citizens should be able to gain entrance into a public school where they plan to distribute info that may directly affect my children.

Our soul intent was to attend the meeting, gather, video and assimilate information out to a very hungry public. 

After all, if it’s coming from the Governor and the Secretary of Education why should it be kept secret and why should it be a private meeting. Why should we not be allowed to attend?

As we are setting up our cameras for the big media event, a lady enters the room and says I’m so sorry we must ask everyone for their press credentials and she turns to me and Mike Mallard with Tin Ship Productions (a nationally known documentary team) and myself, a staff writer of BCN with near 150,000 readers in 164 countries to display our credentials.

Mike and I were quickly encircled with Principal Mike Collier, the lady, and two policemen at our sides. It was obvious by the lack of activity outside this rather small group that we were the only ones being asked for credentials and quite frankly the only ones that needed them. So we searched our pockets, our wallets no credentials found and no one else in the room were being asked. So we knew the mood was fixing to change a very public lynching was to ensue.

We were approached by very aggressive principal that started making demands for us to leave as it was obvious the conservative “right wing”, independent reporters were not welcome and clearly had no say so in this debate. He must have read the latest DHS memo on Christians and right wing terrorists destroying the country.

After asking several pointed questions of which no defining answers followed we were told this is not open to the public and that we were not welcome.

At the crescendo and the principal obviously tiring at having his “authori-ty” questioned he lunged toward me and said “we do not allow combative people like you into these meetings!!!” I chuckled as evidently I asked one to many questions and replied “Sir, I’m not yelling at you so I do not expect you to yell at me!” “I’m just trying to find out how I can attend this meeting!” 

I changed the tempo a bit and slid around to his left, leaving his forehead and his hands shaky for some reason. I said “at this point I would like to be considered a concerned parent and a taxpaying citizen and would like to stay and not video but take notes of the planned speech by our duly elected Governor and his appointee” at which time he flashed his hands in a sweeping motion and said forcefully like a child exiting his office “GET THEM OUTTA HERE!!!”

As we exit the heavily guarded entrenchment with police escort, the library at our backs and into the main office I hear a familiar female voice squeaking condescendingly “That sure didn’t take you long! Is it over?” The laughter around her clearly displayed that the intent of her comment was relayed to me and Mike that we were not welcome in this very public building.

The walk to the exit to the end of the awning was very pleasant and as our escort turned verbal we met a very nice and friendly officer, last name Mason. He was very accommodating and apologetic stating he was not trying to squelch our rights. But our rights were violated! His willingness to honor someone eliminating my ability to peaceably gather and redress my government, to have freedom of the press stripped and to somehow impede the balancing of the powers of our federal government and their representatives, yes their was an assist here!

Yes, unknowingly perhaps but being the escort that gives these self appointed elite the ability to rewrite the Constitution and enforce their assumed power, yes, yes, you did participate in that classless action by providing a means for them to weld their unchecked tyrannical behavior.

Mike and I and several others soon resign to the partitioned “grassy knoll” to watch as the Governor, the Secretary of Education and their lap dogs arrived like rock stars and enter unscathed, unquestioned and uninhibited through the halls and the path we, who just moments ago exited under police duress. From this public domain they will now spew their well timed rhetoric to a liberal press that will filter till the info is unrecognizable and is palatable enough for all the sheep to lap up and digest!  

I’m sure the lead in story on all newscasts will be about their strong support of the unproven common core federalized standards. The propaganda spin cycle is on and completely unfettered by a concerned public attempting to dispel the agenda of the federal machine. Spin the nightly news will you please?

As a vocal or better known outspoken American you will never know the feeling of loss as when you lose your rights at the barrel end of a gun and witness a government completely out of control, unbridled and ready to pull the trigger.

Ponder these thoughts and observe the happenings around you! We are losing our rights and many more don’t care or are simply uninformed.

I’m becoming very accustomed to this type behavior and all too familiar with my rights not being honored. I’m still thinking this is not such a good thing! Right?

To contact this Principal I would encourage you to call or email him. Please be civil, nice and I do not condone violence or any threats.

I think it would do a world of good to let him know there are many out there that feel that the Constitution is still intact and many are still willing to speak up for those rights and believe in full disclosure, especially if our kids are involved!

RHEE-diculous education reform blood money leaves many local politicians in TN with fat pockets

It’s time for the parents, teachers and school administrators to stand up to the bullies in our government and take back our schools. 

They, people like Rhee and Huffman, are not interested in making sure that our children are getting a good education in our public schools or even creating education reform that will truly make a difference. 

They are all about the money and what it will do for them and their political careers.

Many months ago I researched the campaign contributions from Students First received by TN legislators (all of them).  

What I found convinced me that we have special interest groups influencing the decisions made in Nashville.   

At the time I had no idea that SF had targeted TN to push their progressive agenda.  This explains why the push to increase Charters in TN.   

Kevin Huffman (xhubby to Rhee-both from Teach For America) Chris Barbic – Director Achievement School District  (Broad Academy graduate and Teach For America) is a dangerous combination in Tennessee that must be ended.   

I have only shared my information with a few activists in TN.  I had also found and shared the information about Student’s First and their 990’s.  I was waiting for the appropriate time to share my research with everyone.
 
Well an article was just released and it exposes some of our legislators (my spreadsheet reveals many more than the article) and the fact they cannot and will not ever support our efforts to repeal Common Core.  WE MUST GET THEM OUT OF OFFICE. 

 Dolores Gresham and Sen. Dickerson need to be at the top of the list. Dickerson is a doctor. First term in office he gets a prime committee appointment and is given the position of 2nd Vice Chair????   It is time for committee reform. 

We have people making decisions about our children’s education that know nothing about education. Even to this day most remain clueless about Common Core.  

We need to ensure that people assigned to committees have experience in the field and they are not taking contributions from people or companies that can influence the decisions of the committee. Anyone that would like to see my spreadsheet can do so upon request.

I have been reading tax forms. 990s– the form of the nonprofit organization (no 1040s for them).
It might sound boring, but I guess that all depends upon whose tax forms they are.

Two 990s are the subject of this post. The first is the 2011 (August 2011 to July 2012) 990 for Michelle Rhee’s reform lobbying organization, StudentsFirst (SF). The second is the 2011 990 from the lesser-known SF sister organization, StudentsFirst Institute (SFI).  Both forms were signed by Michelle Rhee on June 13, 2013 and filed with the IRS in Ogden UT on June 18, 2013.

The Best of Both Worlds: 501(c)3 and 501(c)4
Both SF and SFI are nonprofits. However, SF is a 501(c)4, and SFI, a 501(c)3. A 501(c)3 is limited in the percent of its budget that it can devote to lobbying. (Violation of this restriction is the reason that Common Cause filed its whistleblower complaint with the IRS against the American Legislative Exchange Council [ALEC] in April 2012.) However, a 501(c)4 does not have such a restriction. Therefore, SFI needs SF in order to unleash as much lobbying as it likes in statehouses around the country. 

Here is the 501(c)4 freedom that causes reformer faces to light up:
501(c)(4) organizations can engage in unlimited lobbying so long as it pertains to the organization’s mission. 

501(c)(3) organizations are not permitted to engage in political activity, endorse or oppose political candidates, or donate money or time to political campaigns, but 501(c)(4) organizations can do all of the above. [Emphasis added.]

One might wonder why Rhee is operating both 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations. After all, why not just operate SF, the 501(c)4, if the goal is unregulated lobbying?

Tax deductions.  As a 501(c)3, SFI allows for deductions not allowed to the SF 501(c)4:

In regards to supporting these organizations, donations made to 501(c)(3) organizations are deductible to the full extent of the law as charitable contributions. Donations made to 501(c)(4) organizations are not deductible, though some businesses who make these contributions often write them off as advertising or business expenses. …

If you want the best of both worlds, you can have two separate but affiliated organizations – one a charitable 501(c)(3) and the other a 501(c)(4) lobbying arm. 

Many trade organizations lobby extensively on behalf of their members, but have an affiliated 501(c)(3) foundation for charitable giving and educational purposes. [Emphasis added.]
Rhee wants “the best of both worlds.”

(Rhee has a second 501(c)4, the Hartford, CT-based Great New England Public Schools Alliance (GNEPSA). GNEPSA portrays itself as “grass roots.” However, it contributors include NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the self-proclaimed “most trusted educator” Steve Perry, and, of course, SF.)

Rhee Is on a Mission
Each of Rhee’s two tax forms requires the respective organization to state its mission. Here’s the SF mission as stated on its 2011 990:
Our mission is to build a movement  to defend the interests of children in public education and pursue transformative reform so that America has the best education system in the world.

And the SFI mission, as noted on its 2011 990:
Our mission is to research and develop model policies that defend the interest of children in public education and pursue transformative reform, so that America has the best education system in the world.

One should realize that StudentsFirst was founded by the same Michelle Rhee who made children’s mouths bleed (taping her students mouths in class) and spoke casually (and fondly) of the incident years later to an audience of new teachers. 

This is the same Michelle Rhee seriously implicated in cheating during her time as DC chancellor and who was never thoroughly and competently investigated.

In order to gain a better sense of the SF “mission,” consider this excerpt from Reuters reporter Stephanie Simon:
Schools don’t need more money, Rhee says; they need to be held accountable for how they spend it.
Rhee wants all teachers to be evaluated in large measure by how much they can boost their students’ scores on standardized tests. 

Scores are fed into a formula that rates how much “value” a teacher has added to each student over the year. 

Rhee says teachers who consistently don’t add value “SHOULD BE FIRED;” those who do well should be rewarded with six-figure salaries.

She has also successfully pushed legislation in several states, including Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Tennessee, to abolish seniority systems that protect veteran teachers and put rookies first in line for layoffs without regard to job performance.

Also high on Rhee’s agenda: giving parents more choices. She calls for expanding charter schools, which are publicly funded but often run by private companies. 

She wants to let parents seize control of failing public schools and push out most of the staff. (Parent trigger?, added for emphasis)

She also supports tax-funded vouchers, which can be used to pay private and parochial school tuition, for families living in neighborhoods with poor public schools. [Emphasis added.]

In short, Rhee is full speed ahead for “reforms” that in no way touch her life. She has millions. She has not been held accountable for cheating in DC. 

Via her TFA experience, Rhee exited the classroom before she faced any evaluation– and she was never held accountable for taping her students’ mouths. 

She has been politically elevated by philanthropic reform money– no seniority issues for her. 

And she is for charters, vouchers, and “parent trigger”– the consequences of which do not touch her privileged children.

Rhee is also connected to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which SF endorses.

And now for those 990s.
The 990s: Overall Revenue and Top Three Program Services

In 2010, SF reported $4.6 million in revenue. The amount rose to $15.6 million in 2011.

In 2010, SFI reported $3 million in revenue, which rose to $13 million in 2011.

In 2012, SF reported the following as its first of its “three largest program services”:

StudentsFirst has an active presence in state legislatures where they work to address legislative policies that promote transformative reform concerning teacher quality, parental empowerment, and fiscal responsibility. 

The team works to ensure proposed legislation meets the goal of transformative education reform. 

StudentsFirst conducts research, prepares policy briefings, hosts forums for the public and meets with legislators and members of their staff to discuss specific education strategies.  Expenses: $4,116,572 [Emphasis added.]

In the second “program service,” SF dares to write that its goal is to “empower teachers,” among others, to “create awareness about education issues and policies.” The expense: $3,300,635.

Finally, its third “service” is “to engage in electoral activity through direct support… and paid media campaigns including independent expenditures in support of candidates to further education reform.” [Emphasis added.]  The expense: $3,289,994.

In other words, SF is purchasing its will in public education.

SF is a lobbying machine.

As for SFI, its top three program expenses do not include the language of lobbying; however, SFI does report on “public policy development methods and analyses”; “oped articles,” and “meetings, events, and workshops.” The total top three expense: $6,987,719.

Let’s talk about “the” board.

Amid public questioning regarding Rhee’s “Democrat” status, in 2013, three Democrat board members– Stein, Sevugan, and Hartsock– resigned from SF.

Some additional noteworthy information on SF/SFI compensated board members: 

Melhorn is the chief operating officer of Bloomberg Law; 

Woodhouse is a former DC Public Schools Office of Data and Accountability employee.

Eric Lerum, author of the SF position article on CCSS, is VP of National Policy for the Fordham Institute.

As for the non-compensated SF/SFI board members, a number are celebrities: Connie Chung, Bill Cosby, Jennifer Johnson, Jalen Rose. 

Blair Taylor is chief community officer for Starbuck’s Coffee and a member of the National Assessment Governing Board (as in the Nation’s Report Card). 

Joel Klein, the Bloomberg-appointed, former NY schools chancellor, is on the SF/FI board. It is only fitting since Klein influenced former DC Mayor Adrien Fenty to hire Rhee as chancellor.

Three non-compensated SF/SFI board members remain:  David Coleman, Jason Zimba, and Ann-Margaret Michael.

Both the SF and SFI FY2011 990s allude to three board members “sharing a common employer” and that such “did not impact the organization’s decision to choose them as members of the board of directors.”
I’ll bet.

The “common employer” is not named in either tax document.
Student Achievement Partners.

Student Achievement Partners is at the center of CCSS. They even refer to themselves as “lead architects” of CCSS on their website.

All three Student Achievement Partners “employees” left the SF/SFI boards effective June 30, 2012.

I think they were there in the first place in order to lobby for their product– CCSS.

How Much to Buy America?

In reading these tax documents, I cannot help but wonder if our democracy is such a farce that it will crumble beneath the weight of the wallets of the wealthy removed. I wonder what it will take for them to realize that they are foolishly destroying the foundation upon which they themselves stand. In their arrogant fiscal elevation they forget that even they require the foundational institutions that form our democracy– public education being one such institution.

Handing millions over to the likes of Michelle Rhee is idiocy. Rhee is nothing more than some Frankenstein creation of bored philanthropy.  

Be careful, mainstream America. In promoting Rhee, you are confusing cash flow for substance.

Here’s a hint: When you hear that a candidate in a local election is being outspent by 10- or 20-to-1, vote for that candidate.

Common Core: Student not allowed to write about her hero….God

Shelby County Tennessee, near Memphis in Millington, at Lucy Elementary school, 10 year old, Erin Shead was told she had to stop writing about her hero “God” in a class project. (See finished project in the links below)

She was told to change the subject for fear that it may offend someone.  She was even told she had to take her project home where it could not be displayed along side the other children’s heroes.

Speaking from the heart of a 10 year old inside a repressive environment she spoke softly in great detail about her project,  “God is my idol, I will never hate him. He will always be the number one person I look up to.” First of all, why would a child express that she will never hate him? This is not a natural relaxed response while speaking of her hero “God!” This is more of a conditioned response made after perhaps a scathing debate.

When the child was pressed for another hero, she was either prompted or simply chose the deceased pop singer Michael Jackson. The choice possibly made because it would not draw the ire of her teacher and would somehow seem less controversial.

Are our children being forced or directed to steer away from Christianity and more toward pop stars because it is more appealing to a greater base and remains politically correct.

It seems the Common Core standards and the lesson plans accompanied and applied have left teachers with the option to direct the conversation to a certain agenda, reflecting their own beliefs on a child.

Each unique teacher is either teaching to a personal belief or a perceived implied  belief within an ideology that somehow promotes forming a differing and limiting view within the minds of our children with a certain agenda, called Common Core!

Are we steadily seeing indoctrination of our children within a closed biased system that is more concerned about developing “global citizens” than with teaching the ABCs?

Christian Ross, a Shelby County school district’s spokesperson, told Fox News last week that the “incident has been addressed at the school-level, and the principal has contacted parents of the student regarding their concerns.”

“This was a regrettable misunderstanding, and we as educators must learn from it.” “The principal and teacher have had a positive and productive conversation with the family, and we are pleased this matter is being addressed at the school level.” “The district will not be discussing this matter further in the media,” the statement added.

Ironically, the same schools in Tennessee that are demanding that we as Christians not be allowed to express our first amendment rights are allowing visits to mosques, gifting of Korans to school children,  offering of prayer mats praying to Allah while facing the east, visitation of Buddhist temples and explaining to young folks that the 10  Commandments cannot be displayed and the 5 pillars of Islam are proudly displayed where the 10 Commandments once stood. They have allowed the 6th pillar, a  lesser known  pillar called Jihad (Holy War against Christians and non believers  that usually ends with death) to be mounted to a wall for all to see.

The obvious push to strive for greater understanding of other religions while separating and isolating another religion is truly a case against the school  system and other leftist establishments that strip everyday Americans of the ability to worship a god of their choice.

The Freedom from religion foundation and the ACLU are not beating down doors to stop this type of repression of religion, thus making these organizations seem biased and singular in their approach to all religions.

This leads me to the conclusion that it’s not about keeping religion out of our schools as much as it is about restraining the expression of christianity from our vernacular. 

Allowing the suppression of one religion while allowing another is not a balanced approach and speaks of a higher appointment to lessen the impact of a Christian influence.

We have stepped into a time period where the table is changing and the ball is now in the other court. 

Christians are now being forced to demand the same protection being afforded Muslims, Hindus, Atheist,Jewish or whomever. 

No longer are Christians allowed to practice what we believe but instead left with the option to litigate to limit the expression of several religious expressions upon the majority fighting for the ability to express their religion. Unfair and unbalanced beliefs are now being forced upon christians seeking the same censure given to other religions.

Why must it be that a child wishing to express God as their hero have a negative impact on all those in striking distance. 

And if the truth be known, had this child chosen to speak about Allah, Mohammed or Buddah as their hero we would not be having this conversation today.

Common Core: Dumbing down our children one dollar at a time

Bradley County as well as many other states participating in Common Core are starting to see money trickle in to their systems for education reform.

A hundred thousand here and eighty thousand there and we have a system bribed by the federal government to implement socialistic education reform changes! Who knew it would take so relatively little to coax radical change?

Race to the Top, locally in Tennessee it’s called First to the Top. This delivery of radical reform uses the Common Core standard spearheading the nation and it’s educational system toward socialism, much in the way the government has taken over the healthcare apparatus.

Many questions remain unanswered about Common Core. One particular concern to many parents and teachers is the deliberate dumbing down or teaching to the lowest denominator and is it really necessary?

With the top down governmental approach to education reform as the  catalyst to reform it’s leaves few with little doubt that this will be the end result and the intended consequence.

The focus on readying our kids for the workforce and to survive a two year stent in college while the American dream of working hard to get ahead eludes us. 

This leads many to believe that the least effort, with the least grey matter exercised will yield the same result as a parent expecting their child to succeed at a very high level. This dualistic exchange speaks volumes of the intent of RTTT and Common Core.

Just the name “Common Core” says we are teaching to the least in the class and expecting the high achievers to come to the middle so there will be no social disparity shown delineating natural selection and tapping into the reserves of the fertile mind.

Common Core means “Common,” 
as Webster defines common as 
basic, simple, rudimentary, having no rank, not of the upper class!

With the recent move of the Bradley County Schools to integrate  special education into classrooms for
80 percent of the day it clearly shows that the intent is to teach to
the lesser of students while exceptional children halt their heightened learning. To literally step back and grasp rehashed information perhaps from prior grades and experiences is unfair and does not serve the population fairly. No longer does advanced learning or teaching up to those with a gift seem a priority.

The end result is gifted students will be forced to dumb down to the least common denominator taking away drive and enthusiasm to excel. Think it doesn’t happen? Observe your gifted student as I have melt into obscurity where a system that used to revolve around them achieving at a high level now wants them to be equal to all others. Gifted kids are often rendered the role of a tudor or a classroom assistant to bring lesser students to the middle where socialism ferments! Totally missing the opportunity to fertilize a growing mind in need of nurturing. This deliberate shake down of greater intelligence should be condemned instead it is embraced by School Supervisors all over the nation. Because to speak out would mean a shortened career.

This is  leaving many bored and unchallenged by a system that is no longer allowing the cream to float to the top.  Natural God given ability to rise to the top is now a foreign substance sinking to the bottom of the education food chain. Our children are being asked or shamed by a system to not be as smart as you can be because a socialistic set of reformers somehow deem it unfair to others to simply attain heights within their ability without
propping them up. It’s the “let’s give everyone a trophy” syndrome that has locked us into a politically correct environment looking for equality of the masses. This is surely the greatest form if injustice.

The comment below shows the intent of the reformers. The lopsided opinion that because your child has a gift he or she must share with all for the “common good” of a society is unjust and steals autonomy from a creative spirit  Stifling those with the ability to contribute to society unfairly shrinks the abilities of high achievers while diminishing their full impact or fingerprint on the global scene.

An excerpt and quote from the Cleveland Daily Banner this week sheds a new light on the goal of Common Core and reflects the dumbing down of our children so everyone can attain mediocrity. The article quotes this supervisor shortly after announcing the acceptance of funds from RTTT and Common Core. “Supervisor of Student Services Dr. Joy Hudson has been working with teachers throughout the system to move more of the special education students into the general education classrooms for up to 80 percent of the day.”  “The model currently being pursued is co-teaching by placing a general education teacher and a special needs educator in the same classroom.” “A component being added by CCS is feedback provided by students.” 

When Common Core was first implemented the thought that dumbing down to the lowest common denominator was a theory based on an observation of the material presented. Now that theory has been proven and is no longer a conspiracy as evidence based research is being revealed as reformers are taking the radical steps to implement the changes.

Now before you jump on the liberal bandwagon and accuse those informing to become vilified allow me to make this statement. I believe we are all Gods children and all our children are special and loved by all parents. 

This should not be so much about a child but about all children and the system that is pulling them down together. When the finger is pointed to one child another child becomes disadvantaged. In this case, both parties are in a situation that is less than optimal because the bar is being set at mediocre or common! 

As you desire a special needs child to become functional inside a classroom there is a parent that wants their child to reach beyond the stars and not be held captive by a system that will only allow them to be common or mediocre, a far less expectation of their God given ability.

Sounds benign enough till you get to digging and find out who is invested in this program and the purveyors who are directing and funding this program.

JERUSALEM – A Muslim Brotherhood-linked organization has partnered with the U.S. Department of Education and the State Department to facilitate an online program aiming to connect all U.S. schools with classrooms abroad by 2016.

Vartan Gregorian, a board member of the organization, the Qatar Foundation International, was appointed in 2009 to President Obama’s White House Fellowships Commission.

WND previously exposed that Gregorian served as a point man in granting $49.2 million in startup capital to an education-reform project founded by former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers and chaired by Obama.

Documentation shows Gregorian was central in Ayers’ recruitment of Obama to serve as the first chairman of the project, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge – a job in which Obama worked closely on a regular basis with Ayers.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration of Washington is exposed in “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America”

Obama also later said his job at the project qualified him to run for public office, as WND previously reported.

The Qatar Foundation International, or QFI, in 2011 partnered with the Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to facilitate matchmaking between classrooms in the U.S. and international schools through something called the “Connect All Schools” project.

QFI, funded by the Qatari government, explains on its website the initiative was founded in response to Obama’s call in his June 2009 speech to the Arab world in Cairo, Egypt, to “create a new online network, so a young person in Kansas can communicate instantly with a young person in Cairo.”

QFI relates how more than 100 U.S. schools and organizations have already connected on the interactive website. (10 percent of those are in Bradley County TN!)

The stated goal of the initiative is to “connect every school in the U.S. with the world by 2016.”

This is not the QFI’s first foray into the U.S. education system.

WND reported last May the Qatar-based foundation awarded “Curriculum Grants” to seven U.S. schools and language organizations to “develop comprehensive and innovative curricula and teaching materials to be used in any Arabic language classroom.”

QFI, based in Washington, D.C., is the U.S. branch of the Qatar Foundation, founded in 1995 by Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Thani is still the group’s vice-chairman, while one of his three wives, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairs the organization’s board.

Thani also launched Al Jazeera in 1996 and served as the television network’s chairman.

The Qatar foundation is close to the Muslim Brotherhood.

In January 2012, it launched the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics under the guidance of Tariq Ramadan, who serves as the center’s director.

Ramadan is the grandson of the notorious founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al Banna. Ramadan was banned from the U.S. until 2010 when the Obama administration issued him a visa to give a lecture at a New York school.

QFI, meanwhile, named several institutions after Yusuf al-Qaradawi, one of the top leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. Many regard Qaradawi as the de facto spiritual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

The foundation instituted the Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi Scholarships and in 2009 established a research center named the Qaradawi Center for Islamic Moderation and Renewal.

Qaradawi has personally attended scores of foundation events, including conferences at which he served as a keynote speaker.

Qaradawi achieved star status because of his regular sermons and interviews on Al Jazeera.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism documents Qardawi openly permitted the killing of American troops in Iraq and praised the “heroic deeds” of “Hamas, Jihad, Al-Aqsa Brigades and others.”

Obama, Ayers connection

Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corp. charitable foundation, was appointed by Obama in 2009 as a White House fellow. Born in Tabriz, Iran, Gregorian served for eight years as president of the New York Public Library and was also president of Brown University.

As Brown president, Gregorian served on the selection committee of the Annenberg Foundation, which funded Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge with a $49.2 million, 2-to-1 matching challenge grant over five years. Ayers was one of five founding members of the Annenberg Challenge who wrote to the Annenberg Foundation for the initial funding.

Steve Diamond, a political-science and law professor and a blogger who has posted on Obama, previously posted a letter from Nov. 18, 1994, in which Gregorian, serving as the point man on Annenberg’s selection committee, asked Ayers to “compose the governing board” of the Challenge’s collaborative project with “people who reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of Chicago.”

Ayers and other founding Challenge members then recruited Obama to serve as the project chairman.

WND was first to expose that Obama and Ayers used the project grant money to fund organizations run by radicals tied to Ayers, including Mike Klonsky, a former top communist activist who was a senior leader in the Students for a Democratic Society group, a major leftist student organization in the 1960s from which the Weathermen terror group later splintered.

National Review Online writer Stanley Kurtz examined the project archives housed at the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago, finding Obama and Ayers worked closely at the project.

The documents obtained by Kurtz showed Ayers served as an ex-officio member of the board that Obama chaired through the project’s first year. Ayers also served on the board’s governance committee with Obama and worked with him to craft project bylaws, according to the documents.

Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Obama. Ayers also spoke for the Chicago School Reform Collaborative before Obama’s board, while Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the collaborative, the project documents reviewed by Kurtz show.

WND reported Obama and Ayers also served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a liberal Chicago nonprofit that granted money to far-left causes.

One of the groups funded by the Woods Fund was the Midwest Academy, an activist organization modeled after Marxist community organizer Saul Alinsky described as teaching tactics of direct action, confrontation and intimidation.

WND reported Jackie Kendall, executive director of the Midwest Academy, was on the team that developed and delivered the first Camp Obama training for volunteers aiding Obama’s campaign through the 2008 Iowa Caucuses.

Camp Obama was a two- to four-day intensive course run in conjunction with Obama’s campaign aimed at training volunteers to become activists to help Obama win the presidential election.

Obama scholar linked to ‘Ground Zero’ imam

Meanwhile, WND reported Gregorian is closely tied to the Muslim leaders behind the controversial Islamic cultural center to be built near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Gregorian also serves on the board of the Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum. The museum is reportedly working with the American Society for Muslim Advancement, whose leaders are behind the mosque, to ensure the future museum will represent the voices of American Muslims.

“[The Sept. 11 museum will represent the] voices of American Muslims in particular, and it will honor members of other communities who came together in support and collaboration with the Muslim community on September 11 and its aftermath,” stated Daisy Khan, executive director of the society.

The Sept. 11 museum’s oral historian, Jenny Pachucki, is collaborating with the society to ensure the perspective of American Muslims is woven into the overall experience of the museum, according to the museum’s blog.

Khan’s husband, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is the founder of the society as well as chairman of Cordoba Initiative, which is behind the proposed mosque to be built about two blocks from the area referred to as Ground Zero.

With Gregorian at its helm, Carnegie Corp. is at the top of the list of society supporters on the Islamic group’s website.

Carnegie is also listed as a funder of both of the society’s partner organizations, Search for Common Ground and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Gregorian was a participant in the U.N. body’s first forum, as was Rauf.

Rauf is vice chairman on the board of the Interfaith Center of New York, which honored Gregorian at an awards dinner in 2008.

Gregorian is the author of “Islam: A Mosaic, Not A Monolith.” According to a book review by the Middle East Forum, his book “establishes the Islamist goal of world domination.”

A chapter of the book, “Islamism: Liberation Politics,” quotes Ayatollah Khomeini: “Islam does not conquer. Think the Common Core State Standards are State led? 

Many have led you to believe that the Common Core standards were born from the states. 

The states had very little choice but to implement them, not create them.

They were left with no choice but to accept hundreds of millions of dollars to reform education.

The push from the top down forced the states to adopt the standards that were created using many layers of influence around the world.

From Marc Tucker, ALEC, UNESCO, to BIll Gates and the United Nations, etc, this has never been nothing but a huge plan put into motion many years ago to radically reform our educational system thus controlling the future generations minds and shaping the future. 63 Superintendents draft “No Confidence” petition to Huffman’s radical reform  

Teneessee Education Czar Kevin Huffman, a Bill Haslam appointee has been on a radical romp in Tennessee the last few years transforming our educational system into a nationalized mess leaving many doubting his motives.

Pushing RTTT, common core, charter schools, new teacher assessments, merit based pay, reduced overall teacher pay, nationalized education, nationalized school boards while trending away from local control, Teach For America and many other reforms are drastically changing the educational landscape in Tennessee. Many within the system forced to accept these changes are not happy.

The 63 or so Superintendents from the state of Tennessee have started a petition to garner Mr Huffmans attention and tell him they may have something to add if only given the opportunity and that they are not happy with the product presented.

A statewide petition made up of educators and superintendents are requesting state legislators and Governor Bill Haslam to reconsider his appointment and the direction our state is heading regarding his massive education reform agenda.

This group of Superintendents are essentially saying they have no confidence in the reform he is initiating.

Mr Huffman brings very little experience as an educator working sparsely as a teacher inside TFA (Teach For America)  an organization marked to replace teachers when they do not measure up to the new teacher evaluation system. TFA is a 7 week training course for “bright individuals” trained in these socialist tactics of Mr Huffmans. My research has revealed they don’t even have to be teachers to graduate as a TFA product ready to step in and teach for teachers unable to keep their license or jobs.

When teachers are fired or lose their license for poor results on standardized testing or TVASS asessments, a TFA teacher will step  in and perform as a Huffman robot “teacher” that does as he says and the new system requires of them.

As an attorney, Huffman is not known as a teacher, and reportedly only taught in lower grades for a couple of years developed from within the TFA puppy, er, teacher mill.  

He is well positioned to be a useful idiot of the federal government to radicalize and eventually nationalize our educational system. He wears that “Yes man” suit well.  Perhaps a DOE post in his not so distant future.

Having roughly half of all Superintendents signing this petition  sends a strong message to Huffman and Haslam.

They are calling on our state legislators and Governor Haslam to stop his radical reform immediately and halt the assault on the system that holds the future of our children and weakens our teachers ability to teach our children.

The petition, posted below is withholding the names of those signed fearing that Mr Huffman or Haslam will retaliate and weaken their push to have him removed. Their names will be added upon presentation to Haslam as soon as next week.

The petition suggests that Mr Kevin Huffman is “not interested” in dialogue with educators on the front lines and even sees them as an “impediment” to implementing his socialistic changes. 

Several superintendents voiced they are “desiring input” into this change but have not been asked, just simply asked to tow the line, no questions asked. 

What little input that has been heard has fallen on “deaf ears” even calling their efforts “futile.” The petition goes on to say “Today we feel that we are not respected and valued and and that the unique culture of our system is not valued…..feeling voiceless and powerless.”

This hardly seems like the environment we need for our teachers and ultimately our children. With this many folks unhappy, where is the motivation for them to succeed?

Bill Haslam  must now know that further support for these radical ideas with even deeper radical ties is not the best choice for Tennessee.

Firing or not renewing their licenses, based on the results of a broken system is ridiculous and begs for us to ask questions of their intent. 

Kevin Huffman brings to the table a portion of his past that may be influencing his decisions even today. It is a proven fact that not too long ago he was married, now divorced to Michelle Rhee, another equally controversial radical reformer with her own problems and controversies. 

Kevin Huffman has obviously taken a few plays from his ex wife’s playbook. It is rumored their children attend schools in TN. Why would there not be an influence? 

Michelle Rhees legacy of failure and controversy has followed her from DC to other parts of the nation and is now shaping our educational system.

The radical reformer has dealt with several education scandals in her recent past varying from reduced teacher salaries, firing superintendents and teachers, cheating on standardized testing stirring heavy resistance and upheaval from many different districts and educators.

Not falling far from that tree is her ex-husband, Kevin Huffman, who has his own issues brewing in Tennessee, not unlike those his wife has  encountered.

Has anyone asked our teachers what they think is best for our school system?

 I can only bet there are about a million teachers in TN that could give you strong enough answers to radically transform our system without getting rid of those that teach and love the profession dearly.

Teachers must speak up and support their Superintendents that are sticking their necks out. Next move, if you want to be heard you must speak up.

You can easily see the motive of large cheating scandals of teachers losing their jobs or worse if kids do not score well enough. This is the environment being fostered in Tennessee.

Look around you. Listen to the apathy as our nation is ripped to shreds by a concentrated band of evil doers dead set on destroying our country from the inside and the silence from the church and parents is deafening.

Mainstream media is an ineffective monstrosity no longer relied upon to notify it’s citizenry, churches are under attack,  religious leaders are tied and silent, our schools have been successfully re routed, prayer is out and humanism is in, religion and Christianity have taken serious blows, the forefathers have been vilified and the Constitution and it’s credibility are waning, the beginnings and foundation of our country is questioned and on and on.

This is deliberate. As I believe Abraham Lincoln once said       
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” 

The enemy has a foothold on the conscience and will of our country. The citizenry is labeled a racist, a bigot, a hater, extremist and even a terrorist if you speak up or out against this coup of our country. It has taken many years and many battles to get here. The propagated system that is in place has raised one generation of children and is working on the next.

The softening and indoctrination of this generation of gullible minds will be the finishing touch that springs us into Socialism and situated within influential positions to perfect the transition.

The left, the communists or whatever you prefer have been working for years to complete this task and will be very successful unless more Americans speak up and speak up loudly.

We are at a critical tipping point. Attempt to talk to a child that has been inside the system, ask them a geography question, how to do their time tables, who is your Congressman etc. The answers will be very shocking and proof that something is astray. 

Why should we be tolerant of Common Core or Islam? Why should we tolerate indoctrination and it’s stronghold on our children and the next generation? Why should I be tolerant of a political system that wants Kafirs (you and I) dead if we don’t convert? Why should I be respectful of a society that sees you as the enemy but yet we need to make our children the tolerant and accepting ones. Why should I sit by idly as Jihad is sending many Americans home in a body bag half the man or woman they once were and bound to a wheelchair for the rest of their lives? Why must I be willing to accept and allow this “religion” where Sharia law dominates and women are less than whale dung? Why? Why does my child’s school feel it needs to be the moral compass for my child’s religious beliefs? Why am I as a parent frowned upon when I demand that my child skip the lessons where “other” religions are discussed?

America was founded on Judaeo Christian values. Our foundation is the 10 Commandments and our God, our savior, of whom millions believed  died on a cross and rose again. My god is not Allah nor Muhammed our messenger. My beliefs or your failure to believe as I do will not result in a sword across the back of my neck and why should I look the other way when my child is being taught Islam and that acceptance is mandatory to be successful inside a global arena?

Why in blue blazes should my child be  subjected to the negativity of “other” religions when my only goal and choice is to show them the love of Christ and not Allah. I could care less if they “understand and become tolerant” of a religion I personally disagree with as a path for which my child should follow. I do not want my child exposed to perhaps other harmful religions, there are things about “other” religions I don not want to think is the norm, to name a couple killing other for your cause and pedophilia. That should be enough, but sadly it isn’t!

Kids are confused enough as is and are trying to sort their way without the confusion of many religious influences in their young minds.

If you wanna teach Islam, Christianity or Buddhism to your child please feel free to do so. After all we live in America and part of living here is we have free choice and the liberties to do as we please inside the law of the land. My liberties are now being infringed upon because now I do not have a choice of what I want my child exposed to. Our school system has taken that right away!

Where did we go wrong when somehow we have relinquished our sovereignty and decision making capability over to a school system that is in the middle of a hostile yet willing takeover.

Backlash? I’m sure many that read this blog will go directly to the sewer and ask why are you and your staff not tolerant of other religions? 

Here is an example of a lesson plan from the standard “submitting to the will of Allah”  where you have replaced one God with another god. 

Whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted of him, and he shall be among the losers in the hereafter. (3.85)

This is not hardly what I want my 12 year old to learn in middle school, she is trying as others to find herself inside a world that is not always seen clearly. Why add to this confusion? Why not allow the parents to subject that same child to the religious belief they desire, free of any other influence and let the schools get back to teaching the fundamentals of being a good student.

The left has drilled the school system for years, sued, complained and fought for “no religion, bible, pledge, prayers or 10 commandments” in our schools and now they are saying we should be tolerant and accepting of “all” religions? 

The same folks that wanted religion completely out of our schools are now demanding that Allah, Buddah and others be a part of our children’s curriculum. 

Uh uh! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it one more time. How can you not expect a backlash by many Americans when you are doing the exact thing today that you fought to eliminate over the last 40 years, what is good for the goose is good for the gander! 

You have brought the fight to us and regrettably successfully, don’t come whimpering for your religion to be accepted now that you have another agenda. It doesn’t work that way! Not in America! Our memories are not that short!

Common Core must be eliminated from our schools and the real foundations of our country reestablished and the new age foundation, the 5 pillars of Islam eliminated!
