HR 459: Fleischmann and Paul to “Audit the Fed”

In Uncategorized on June 7, 2012 at 6:44 PM

Extremely good news coming out of DC today! Congressman Chuck Fleischmann has signed on with Ron Paul to audit the fed with bill HR 459.

The runaway fed is spending trillions of our tax dollars and for the most part the feds are largely unaccountable to that spending.

Let’s congratulate and call Chuck and Ron and let them know we are happy for this decision. Like all bills we must get more co-sponsors to make it stick. By Chuck signing on as well as others, it’s chances of survival are greater.

Call your Congressman now and let them know you want them to sign on to HR 459. An audit of the fed is way over due.

Pass this along to your email lists and get lots of attention drawn to this bill.

Email from Congressman Fleischmann:

During the 2008 financial crisis, the Federal Reserve Bank issued roughly $3.3 trillion in loans to failing investment banks, hedge funds, and other financial firms which are outside the mandate of the Fed.  In return, the Fed accepted undisclosed assets from their counterparties, many of which are no doubt toxic and have exposed the Fed to significant loss. It is clear that an audit of the Fed is badly needed, so I am pleased to join Rep. Ron Paul as a cosponsor of H.R. 459, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

Currently, the Fed is purchasing trillions in US debt and other securities in a practice called quantitative easing, thereby weakening the dollar.  Also, the Fed has lowered the dollar financing costs for European banks, potentially taking on European sovereign debt, which isn’t exactly the safest investment these days.  Both of these actions could significantly threaten the US economy, and expose taxpayers to bailouts.  Unfortunately, neither Congress nor the American public knows the extent of the Fed’s exposure.  An audit will change this, and bring the actions of the Fed out of the shadows and into the light of day.  It is long past time that we examine the Fed’s role in our financial system.

I look forward to supporting the Federal Reserve Transparency Act on the House floor, and I will continue to fight to make the Fed transparent and accountable to the American people.

Sincerely,

Chuck Fleischmann
Member of Congress

Tennessee TSA Boasts of being first to discard your 4th Amendment Rights

TSA Releases VIPR Venom on Tennessee Highways

This issue is very serious for all Bradley Countians and Tennesseeans! The TSA is boasting they are the first to fight Terrorism in the country using this method! The VIPR! Wow! Our country and our rights are disappearing faster than we can keep up with! Illegal search and seizure! No cause needed! Just a suspicion to search your person and your vehicle! They can look at you on the road and motion for you to pull over then violate your 4th Amendment rights all in the name of combating terrorism! We are gonna get used to the police getting up and personal and once again accept it as the usual and customary way of daily business! Folks the Constitution is there for a reason! That is to protect you from a runaway government! With no constraints we no longer are free! We no longer make our own choices! We no longer can travel where we want or say what we want! This is encroaching on every thing that has made our country great for over 200 years! The simple rules, that dividing line that separates us from the communist nations that rule with an iron fist is slowly eroding away! God bless this country! God bless the people! We are going to need it! Enjoy the read!
If you thought the “Transportation Security Administration” would limit itself to conducting unconstitutional searches at airports, think again.  The agency intends to assert jurisdiction over our nation’s highways, waterways, and railroads as well.  TSA launched a new campaign of random checkpoints on Tennessee highways last week, complete with a sinister military-style acronym–VIP(E)R—as a name for the program.

As with TSA’s random searches at airports, these roadside searches are not based on any actual suspicion of criminal activity or any factual evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever by those detained.  They are, in effect, completely random.  So first we are told by the U.S. Supreme Court that American citizens have no 4thamendment protections at border crossings, even when standing on U.S. soil.  Now TSA takes the next logical step and simply detains and searches U.S. citizens at wholly internal checkpoints.

The slippery slope is here.  When does it end?  How many more infringements on our liberties, our property, and our basic human rights to travel freely will it take before people become fed up enough to demand respect from their government?  When will we demand that the government heed obvious constitutional limitations, and stop treating ordinary Americans as criminal suspects in the absence of probable cause?

The real tragedy occurs when Americans incrementally become accustomed to this treatment on the roads just as they have become accustomed to it in the airports. We already accept arriving at the airport 2 or more hours before a flight to get through security; will we soon have to build in an extra 2 or 3 hours into our road trips to allow for checkpoint traffic?

Worse, some people are lulled into a false sense of security and are actually grateful for this added police presence!  Should we really hail the expansion of the police state as an enhancement to safety?  I submit that an attitude of acquiescence to TSA authority is thoroughly dangerous, un-American, and insulting to earlier freedom-loving generations who built this country.

I am certain people will complain about this, once they have to sit in stopped traffic for a few extra hours to allow for random searches of cars.  However, I am also certain it merely will take another “foiled” plot to silence many people into gladly accepting more government mismanagement of safety.

Vigilant, observant, law-abiding, gun-owning citizens defend themselves and stop crimes every day before police can respond.  That is the source of real security in America:  the 2nd Amendment right to defend oneself.  The answer is for people to be empowered to protect themselves.  Yet how many weapons might these checkpoints confiscate?  Even when individual go through all the legal hoops of licensing and permits, the chances of harassment or outright confiscation of weapons and detention of citizens when those weapons are found at a TSA checkpoint is extremely high.

Disarming the highways and filling them full of jack-booted thugs demanding to see our papers is no way to make them safer.  Instead, it is a great way to expand government surveillance powers and tighten the noose around our liberties.

The End of the United Nations – H.R. 1146

Dr. Ron Paul’s bill to Audit the Federal Reserve has gained tremendous momentum. Every congressmen is feeling the pressure. While every voter turns up the heat we should all take a serious look at Dr. Paul’s other game changing legislation and mix it into our conversations with Representatives. One of Dr. Paul’s highest priority bills is to sever the United States relationship with the United Nations.

According to the original rhetoric the UN was meant to mediate between countries and keep peace. Unfortunately the leaders of the world have ceded more control to world legislative, health and economic bodies rather then retain their sovereignty. The UN has played a role in dispatching troops, controlling life saving supplies and destroying the economies of countries by shipping labor offshore and forcing a central banking system into independant nations. The UN has become the controlling body of different organizations mobilized to take control over the nations of the world.

The UN, in conjunction with other organizations like the International Monetary Fund(IMF), Global Trade Organization(GTO), World Court (WC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) is a part of an agenda to globalize governments by superceding Nations rights with global laws. President Obama is trying to pass the CIFTA treaty, a law making the UN responsible for allowing guns to be sold in America. The WHO is trying to force countries to vaccinate for a barely existent flu and is set to regulate vitamins worldwide. The G20 (a meeting of the global leaders) just announced the IMF is now issuing a global currency called the Special Drawing Right Unit, of which Mexico has received 45 billion to resuscitate its beleagured economy. NATO forces for the UN have had drills arresting Americans with foreign troops.

We have a way out of global government while preserving the rights guaranteed by American law. On February 24, Rep. Ron Paul (R.-Texas) introduced H.R. 1146, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2009 in the House and the legislation was referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The bill was cosponsored by Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R.-Tenn.) on March 19.

The stated objective of H.R. 1146 is to end membership of the United States in the United Nations. It would accomplish this end by initiating the following actions:

1. Repeal the United Nations Participation Act of 1945;

2.  Require the president to terminate all participation by the United States in the United Nations, and any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations;

3.  Close the United States Mission to United Nations;

4.  Terminate the appropriation of funds for assessed or voluntary contributions of the United States to the United Nations or any of its affiliated agencies;

5.  Prohibit funding of contributions to any United Nations military operation;

6.  Prohibit any member of the Armed Forces of the United States from serving under the command of the United Nations;

7.  Prohibit employees of the United Nations from using U.S. government property;

8.  Suspend diplomatic immunity for officers and employees of the United Nations;

9.  Repeal acts authorizing U.S. participation in UN agencies such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization; the United Nations Environment Program; and the World Health Organization; and would end all participation in any and all conventions and agreements with the United Nations.
