EPA set to garnish your wages for breaking regulations

The EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, has announced that as of September 2014, it will have the unbridled ability to garnish your wages for environmental infractions.

If this seems odd to you then you had best speak up. Otherwise, breaking an EPA regulation will cost you plenty and they can take it via wage garnishment.

As per link below, According to The Washington Times, the agency announced the plan to enhance its purview last week in a notice in the Federal Register. The notice claimed that federal law allows the EPA to “garnish non-Federal wages to collect delinquent non-tax debts owed the United States without first obtaining a court order.” 

The notice went on to say that the EPA had fast-tracked the new rule, enabling it to take effect September 2. 

1. The EPA said the rule was not subject to review because it was not a “significant regulatory action.”

The EPA has claimed this new authority by citing the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996,  Section 31001(o), which gives all federal agencies the power to conduct administrative wage garnishment, provided that the agency allows for hearings at which debtors to challenge the amount or the terms of repayment schedule. 

.”The EPA also states that, “we view this as a noncontroversial action and anticipate no adverse comment.” 

“This direct final rule is effective September 2, 2014 without further notice unless EPA receives adverse comments by August 1, 2014.”

The conservative Heritage Foundation claimed that the rule gives the EPA “unbridled discretion” over the process of challenging fines.  David Addington, group vice president for research at Heritage, told the Times that the rule not only puts the burden of proof on the debtor, rather than the agency, but also allows the EPA to decide whether a debtor even gets a chance to present a defense before picking whomever it chooses to serve as a hearing officer.

The amount of money the EPA has collected in fines has increased steadily since President Barack Obama took office. In 2012, the agency took in $252 million in fines, up from just $96 million in 2009. 

Also be conscious of the fact that a growth plan is probably in effect in your community. This Agenda 21 project gives the DOT, the EPA and  HUD full access to your community with all authority rendered to them via your locally elected representatives. 

It’s time to speak up and out about government overreach into your wallets by a truly oppressive regime.

Unfit to Rule, an old document must be revisited

Nearly 250 years ago our founding fathers stood against a tyrannical oppressive government in the form of King George and suffered greatly at the hands of a King that cared not where his swift hand landed.

Today, again, repeatedly we find ourselves at a point in history where we find it necessary to make a stand against the same type of government that our original 13 colonies and it’s leaders faced. They saw fit to rise up and replace a form of government that was no longer representative of the people.

King George, as any elected or appointed ruler must be dissolved when that person is no longer a representative of the people.

Commissioners, Councilmen, Mayors, NGOs, State Representatives, State and US Senators, Governors and Presidents must be replaced at the ballot box when they become complacent and no longer representative of the people.

We as a country, a community stand at a crossroads where if we do not act the country we have will be no longer. Out free nation is standing at a crossroads. We have a fake president who is unfit to lead. We have many federal, state and local representatives of our country that are no longer in elected positions to uphold the constitution and assure the sovereignty of its people remain. Just as our forefathers saw the need to restrain and replace a King, we now must take the same steps and replace a King and his oppressive government once again.

This upcoming election and the ones soon thereafter will be the most important decisions we as a country will make in nearly 250 years. The conclusion is our current form of government is not a true representation of the people.

The document that separated the powers and saved this country is once again being called upon to provide guidance as we “overthrow” another tyrannical government. The pertinent and relevance to what our forefathers suffered and our current situation is uncanny.

Just as those that led before us, we as a people, and electing body must stand for what is right in our country and decide what we must do. Shall we see our country slide into the abyss or make a much needed stand against a government that has grown way out of control. Patriotism and loyalty to our country are the only thing that will stand between freedom and tyranny. We must decide and soon what will happen to our country and our community. We must act now!

When you ponder what to do at the ballot box carry with you the same resolve that our forefathers carried. Realize the power you have and the decision making power you have. Because of them, you have the ability to restore our form of government and you can change our country drastically and emphatically with a pull of a lever.

If our country can’t be changed by a vote, will another revolution be the answer? I don’t have that answer but the question is important.

When the flak is heavy, you are over the target

This month has been a very productive month for the patriots of Bradley County Tennessee!

Many issues have been confronted and many spoken about on this blog site. I have noticed a very curious occurrence during this very eventful month. I have noticed an up tick of flak and it has been directed toward the citizens that dare ask questions.

When I was in the service, I would sit and observe the desert night much like a movie screen on some nights but much more dangerous. The night air over Iraq was full of aircraft, some you could see some you could not. As they made their way across the sky, either high or low, slow or fast you knew they were over the intended target because the return fire or flak would be heaviest and the tracers and fire trails would light up the sky like the fourth of July. More often than not the jets would be long gone and just the residual sound would draw flak because of the high speeds of our jet fighters.

I draw this analysis because it is relevant to the political environment in Bradley County and Cleveland Tennessee. When the people in this town ask a question or disagree on their policies or decisions being made the sky lights up like a firework display, saturating the night air heavy with flak. If it is a sensitive area the flak even heavier.

When the people question a questionable policy or statement how does that make you non cooperative and creating controversy? For instance, when you raise questions about a growth plan that is arguably going to cost my children and their grandchildren in higher taxes, some have quoted 4 to 10 billion dollars. Why does questioning a new tax that could possibly tax me out of the ability to own my home a bad thing? Why is it when a non elected bureaucrat says it is a “given” that many people downtown are going to lose their property for the “collective good” of all through eminent domain and demolition of 300 plus homes? Why is it being uncooperative and controversial when you say a school has no right to robo call and tell their teachers to push the vote and place signs in state owned, taxpayer funded schools defying their own policy and breaking state law? Why is not wanting a 32 dollar tax placed on all 5 of my vehicles in a down economy while knowing 60 percent of my property taxes already supports? Why is it controversial we question that any child has to be subjected to the teaching of the United Nations, by one of the most corrupt organizations in the world via the International Baccalaureate program?

Ill tell you why, it’s all about the federal dollars, our money that come with it! It’s about the money! Our County and city officials have become a slave to the almighty dollar! This is the real reason I and others are being controversial or non cooperative is because someone has put greater value over the dollar than our families and their well being. Now I get it!

We the people of this town have drawn some heavy flak and/or strong criticism recently from many fronts. As we navigate across their landscape and see an area that looks questionable or just doesn’t seem right, watch them spring into action to protect their interests and return fire. Strong flak becomes evident as we zoom over the political landscape. The money is talking and the politicians are walking the walk.

You would expect the fire to be coming from an unknown enemy or a foreign enemy, but the most flak is coming from a very domestic enemy in the name of our own government and its appointed bureaucrats. To include every committee appointee. NGO Non Governmental Organization, local press and private partner.

This enemy has taken a stronghold on it’s citizens and are fortifying it with dangerous weapons and heavy artillery that have been directed towards it’s citizens as of late. Double talk, spin, lies, innuendos, name calling, discrediting reports, scathing news articles and editorials, fear of arrest, coverups, resolutions against law abiding citizens and ripping away of their first amendment rights.

These tactics are not new but the enemy is very skilled in their use and have honed those skills very well over the years. They can start a conversation and by the end of it they are cutting a citizen in two. They attempt to ruin careers, destroy lives, disrupt livelihoods and many more deviant rituals just to get you to back down, just by questioning bad policy. They have had power too long. They have now a sense of complete ownership, pretty much the same way a man would protect his wife from another man. We will rule with a mighty hand and the peasants will obey or be struck down, sort of like a King and his court protecting his fortune.

But why? Why do they lash at the citizens most of them represent. I have thought long and hard on this and have come to “it’s a money thing” conclusion.

When you challenge the status quo they come at you with many fronts but I believe someone has been reading the Art of War by Sun Tzu. From this book I take this quote and apply it to their aggressiveness on it’s people.

” All warfare is based on deception.”

This may explain the “playground bullying advances” when a citizen dare challenge someone in power. Reverse the deception and place it on those that challenge you! Appear the stronger, show your prowess with a flex and get three or four of my buddies and knock you down quickly, neutralize you before you are successful in exposing the truth, the money trail.

The machine in Bradley County and Cleveland is working overtime lately and running hot, about to blow. The people are being knocked away when they get too close. Even the local press is pushing back on the citizens with carefully placed editorials……but why? What is in the target area? The money? What advantage is it for even our local press to sabotage the citizens who buy, support and read their paper? I don’t get it. With my opinion, why are they siding with the politicians, bureaucrats and the money?

Is it like the spoiled child who has had their way for years and now feels threatened? Is it like the territorial dog when you get too close to it’s food bowl they snap? Why do they run in packs? Why are non elected, non appointed representatives focusing on damaging the spirit of the citizens?

I believe I am formulating a late response. My opinion only. Could it be fear of exposure? Perhaps protecting the money trail? Is the truth being hidden? Is there a “secret agenda” noone knows about and only they are aware? Will their plans be foiled and the community made aware? Why does following the money trail aggravate the most? Why does speaking up in a meeting becomes so contentious? Why take jabs at it’s citizenry at every possible turn? What is in the mix when you shine light upon these officials and bureaucrats. Only time will tell! The truth will always prevail and will always overcome these attacks. It sounds like the controversy and spirit of uncooperativeness is not coming from the citizens as they claim but from a well organized machine dead set on vilifying concerned citizens. Doesn’t sound like the citizens are all that bad. After all, we are only asking questions. Does that make it bad.

Pay attention when the opposing troops are protecting a target area. The elected and non elected alike will quickly mount their turrets and fire away at the citizens the heaviest. This is most unfortunate and is the saddest thing about this blog.

Tyranny in any form is still tyranny and must lead to a change in our government structure. We have the opportunity to vote them out. This is our last big tool to make change.

The greatest compliment you can pay a patriot trying to restore our constitutional Republic is to fire heavy while we are hovering overhead a protected target, it is pay dirt for the lovers of freedom in this town. It tells us we are on the right scent. It means we are close to exposing the truth and are within close proximity of the target…..money?……exposure?……loss of power?

There are two sides to redressing grievances with our government, mine and the government. When you form your an opinion based on that constitutional right, that is your weakness, not ours.

Our forefathers provided this right of passage to provide balance between our government and the people they represent. It keeps the voice of the people relevant and up to date. It was not intended to destroy their careers, imprison them or vilify their protest efforts. We have had one King George and a tyrannical government, we don’t need another.

Next time you see a concerned citizen waving a flag, protesting on a street corner or speaking up against bad policy in a public meeting asking for input, shake their hands and tell them thank you and build them up, not immediately try to figure a way to destroy and expose them. They have your best interest in mind and are standing in the gap for you. Let’s cheer the concerned citizen who puts it on the line daily for you and your family. Get behind them as thousands have over the last few tense months. We represent you, not the government that is attempting to discredit you despite your well intended questions.

For now……..fly low and fast and remember the flak is heaviest when you are over the target!

The ironic thing is there is not one mistruth is in this flyer! And our elected officials have stirred up one hell of a balew over it! It is all true! I am holding a document and would gladly provide a copy that clearly states that 300 homes in the downtown area will be “demolished and redeveloped” just as the flyer warns.

The mix up is that it is my belief that not even the Mayor is fully informed of the growth plan that he and his council have voted on and approved recently!

This is the price they pay for allowing 3rd parties and NGOs (Non Governmental Organizations) such as industrial boards, Chamber of Commerce or economic development appointees or committee members to make all the in between vote decisions for them. Then when the informed taxpayer, in this instance, an informed tea partier does his due diligence, researches numerous documents and presents facts to our elected officials they have that deer in the headlight look as if seeing it for the first time.

I have a very alert, well educated and intelligent group of individuals in the tea party and they are willing to go to bat to stop this type of spin on the truth even if it means great personal conflict or loss! It is a belief in the constitution, that if followed will flush out many who do not belong in office.

We can no longer sit back and trust our elected officials with the rings at a full gallop. We must, as concerned citizens, pull back on the bit and slow the stallion down while occasionally having to break them with a steady firm hand.

Our politician bureaucrat types are attempting to discredit and silence any person that speaks the truth in an open venue, such as passing flyers out to the public.

Not one single mistruth permeates this flyer! The biggest lie told on this story comes from a very misinformed Mayor and council that is not even aware of the plans inside the plan they voted to enact just a few short months ago.

To make up for their information inadequacy they strike at the first person who happens to tell them something they have never heard or seen and instead of researching the data or “googling” the information as suggested, they assume the information is false and start a campaign against this valiant man and his family!

The campaign hoisted by this administration is irrehensible and truly has hurt those in it’s path! The ability of one person and it’s seven henchmen along with a willing press to do absolutely no research of any of the data in question is the true destructive component of a government and it’s governors that are sorely inconsiderate of their electorate.

I would truly be ashamed if this were my doing and hurting a family the way some have. The mental anguish this has placed on this person is almost unbearable and has caused a fine upstanding citizen to go underground to avoid tyranny from a runaway government.

Not a single reporter or elected representative that I am aware of has even bothered to raise a hand to research the facts. If they did they would clearly see that the information that is being hotly contested would bare out the truth and provide the answers and end the debate over truth or non truth.

It’s like Nancy Pelosi suggested on the Obamacare health care bill, sign it then we will read it later! The taxpayers are pretty aware of what is coming down the pike, it’s the elected officials that would sign on a paper bag without knowing what was in the bag, if it meant federal dollars coming their way!

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The head of the Tea Party of Bradley County said Tuesday that Mayor Tom Rowland should resign after taking a stand against a flier — written by a tea party member — that says the city wants to destroy the homes in some Cleveland neighborhoods.

Donny Harwood, local tea party chairman, said Rowland thinks he is king.

The Cleveland City Council also voted unanimously to request a police investigation into the flier, a decision that Harwood says is “to basically manhunt down the source of the flier and have him arrested or brought up on charges.”

Harwood said the man who put out the flier recently joined the Bradley tea party and is “now in fear of his safety and well-being. I had to listen as his family wept in the background on a phone conversation because this mayor unjustifiably put out a bounty on his head!”

In his emailed statement, Harwood said the mayor and all the City Council, plus city planner Greg Thomas, should resign.

Rowland said Tuesday that “the job of city government is to protect its citizens and that includes misinformation that could put fear into senior citizens.”

Rowland has said there is no plan to destroy homes in the neighborhoods through a plan being developed by Bradley County, Cleveland and Charleston to accommodate growth for the next 25 years.

“The neighborhoods where the fliers were circulated are established neighborhoods where people have lived for two or three generations,” Rowland said. “They should not be given misinformation that creates fear.

“The council simply asked for an investigation to determine the source of the fliers so they can be given correct information. Of course, if any criminal laws are violated, that is a different matter,” Rowland said.

Calling the city government “runaway,” Harwood said that if he or the man who put out the flier are harmed, that the mayor, the council and Thomas “should be held responsible and investigated to the fullest extent of the law!”

Last evening on Channel 9 out of Chattanooga Tennessee, Cleveland Tennessee Mayor Tom Rowland was featured in a scathing news report that was aimed at the citizens of Cleveland/Bradley County that were reportedly handing out flyers in a community in the downtown Cleveland area speaking out against the Mayor and his band of clones that are going to redevelop the downtown area using the EPAs Brownfield development using HB 1554 and TIF financing to take away our property rights.

I’ll add a scary voice here, but he was quoted on the news cast as saying they, whomever they are, “are being very careful to not put the flyers in the mailboxes!” scary laugh, hooo haaaaaah haaaaaah!!!! Eluding to the fact that if we find out they put a flyer in a mailbox, we will snatch them from their family and put them in a federal prison for years, and we can probably do it through the Department of Homeland Security, since I am head of the local office, scary laugh again! The unquoted parts were mine and not his but can you see that this man is assuming he has more power than he really does?

The Mayors tyrannical activity speaks volumes of the county and cities efforts to squash the citizens from speaking out about a wayward government with way too much power. Enough power to presumably cause a citizen to go underground, to flee from his or her government, to cause family anguish due to fear of reprisals, causing his or her family to be tormented by his words causing citizens to second guess any activity for fear of retaliation or reprisals. This is a sad day for Cleveland Tennessee, and Bradley County!

The Mayor from a bully pulpit, on a regional TV news stage exerting the effort to stop a normal, tax paying citizen from exercising his/her first amendment rights. This is shameful and should be condemned.

No longer are we under the kookiness of a King George, his oppression was done away with long ago, yet we have a modern day King Tom oppressing the people in the same way through fear and intimidation.

The mayor spoke of federal charges and encouraged the citizens to call in and report this anonymous person who dares speak out against King Tom, leading many to believe there is a manhunt for this purveyor of truthful flyers complete with statements about King Toms plans for his downtown Kingdom.

I have been approached by several involved in the “federally” offensive flyer handout scandal and they have made the decision to lay low and are truly fearful for their safety! A government designed and led this way should at the very least be questioned as unethical! This is BS, hogwash or any other word that I can print!

Our elected mayor calling on citizens to be arrested for speaking up and forcing them to be on the lamb, so to speak and cause their family great suffering is tyranny at its strongest! Shame on the mayor for his actions. Illegal activity, hogwash!!!

In a recent conversation, after several attempts of this reporter/blogger to contact the police department, Sherrif Snyder, a police officer, the mayor himself I finally reached the Asst District attorney Steven Hatchett who was willing to go on record as saying that the act of handing out flyers in a community is "not illegal and is protected by free speech even if the information being handed out is disputed!" Mr Hatchett went on to say that the first Tea Party was handing out flyer years ago and it was not illegal then either! He dd go onto say that although the act of handing out a flyer is not illegal, there are some constraints such as no littering, inciting a riot, obstructing traffic or when possibly a ordinance is broken but was safe to say that the act of passing out the flyer is not illegal. The rule to free speech is the exception that it must pass constitutional muster! Mr Hatchett was very professional and helpful throughout the short interview. The overwhelming feeling I got from him is no matter who you are or what your title is, the rights of the people under the constitution is still intact and still protects them.

Mr Mayor, all elected officials blow the dust off the ole constitution that you may have on your bookshelf and I advise you to read it!

This is the only document that at present date is keeping the citizen in Cleveland, Tennessee free from a tyrannical run away government!

Its the difference between keeping us free and making us felons. Many have tried to enslave the people but the one constant is that the constitution protects the people and tyrannical governments. For now, as long as it remains intact, the Mayor nor anyone in this town can tell us what to do and that our government truly has no jurisdiction over the people and our Sovereignty!

Georgetown Community meeting tonight: Rezoning, property rights, SR 60 on the agenda

Tonight! Community meeting at Georgetown Baptist Church on SR 60, across from the Family Dollar, 730 pm, bring someone with you!

A sleepy little piece of rural America nestled into Bradley Counties rolling hills and meadows is being prepared to become a hustle and bustle rezoned I (1) heavy industrial park complete with a 5 lane highway with major intersection development at Hopewell School!

The existing property rights and values of that property are at stake. Many realtors and key players in and around the planning commissions stand to gain heavily from this property grab.

The vote went forward on May 1, 2012 by the Bradley County Planning Commission despite a packed room of concerned citizens saying “NO!” Tony Young was quoted by the Cleveland Daily Banner, “I think we get the gist”, he said, “You all are against it.” Then moments later, the Commission voted in favor of the rezoning. Mr Young (Works for Crye Leike) abstained from the vote because of conflicts with Allen. Judy Allen who is not a member of the planning commission but from my understanding is/was a Crye Leike Realtor and owner of some of the property in the rezoning area. The vote was approved 3 to 2 with Commissioner and Planning member Mel Griffith, Tom Crye and Stacey Tucker voting yes and Janie Bishop and Daryl Sneed voting no. Planning
Commissioners Lisa Webb and Lindsay Hathcock and Greg Calfee were absent. Why Mr Tom Crye(in the realty business) continued on with his vote I do not know.

My overwhelming thought coming out of this meeting is why were so many “vested” and standing to benefit from this rezoning ever allowed on this board and some still voted? Why didn’t our one standing County Commissioner on the board vote with the people and vote NO? Another thought, with so many “absent and abstaining” why was the vote not delayed till the appointed board could have had better attendance which could have turned the vote. Why?

Many in the room that evening were encouraged to vote no or to delay the vote to “gather” more information. County Commissioners Terry Caywood and Ed Elkins, both from 1st District representatives even suggested delaying the vote. Why did the planning commission elect to bypass those requests by it’s citizens and elected representatives and vote in favor? Whatever the reason, herein lies the answer.

Living in a rural area is an enviable position to be in from city dwellers. I love the open area. I love to stand on my front porch and see pasture, birds and listen to a roaring stream and birds chirping. I do not want to look out my door and see a new superstore or a steel grey building shadowing me from the sun and the traffic getting back and forth to it. Leave the county alone! Leave our property alone. We like it the way it is. Rural and beautiful!

Come join us at the meeting tonight. 730 pm at the Georgetown Baptist Church across from the Family Dollar on SR 60. Come early, it is going to be crowded. We must take a stand against our elected and nonelected representatives that are calling all the shots despite our objections. They and their selected minions work for us and if we want things a certain way then they should act accordingly. Community activism against is the backbone of our society. When that voice is taken away by those elected to represent us, especially the non elected boards, Committees and Chambers of Commerces there is tyranny under a monarchy. Liberty and a republic does not exist when the peoples voice is silenced and their efforts vilified. Community and public dissent is the great equalizer not the great evil that certain “good ole boys” in town wish to make you. Our country was formed by dissenters and so called “trouble makers” in our not to distant past.

Embrace these citizens that are boldly and courageously standing between us and an encroaching government, stand with them. They are what America needs more of. Send a strong message that we are not the bad guy. Instead, we are a very strong, well oiled group that are standing up for the fight armored with our inalienable (God given, not man or Government given rights but inalienable! Mainly mong those are our property rights.

The Bradley County Commission is planning to vote on this rezoning issue on June 4th, 2012, 7pm, at the Bradley County Commission meeting room at the courthouse. Please plan to be there and bring someone from the Georgetown, Hopewell area with you.

In the meantime, call your commissioner and tell them you want them to vote NO on this rezoning request. Tell them you want a NO vote, not a DELAY vote. They frequently will delay the vote in hopes of public dissent to cool somewhat them when “interest is lost” the vote is recast with less hoopla! This method has been used successfully in the past!

VOTE NO or we replace you with someone who will vote NO! It’s that simple and it is the American way to prevent government intrusion into our lives.

Our forefathers would be proud! See ya there!

73 percent of Charette attendees strongly disagree with Bradley County Comprehensive Plan

The overwhelming message from the recent Charette at the Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland Tennessee was the citizens of Cleveland and Bradley County Tennessee do not want this comprehensive plan or hire consultants from out of town for hundreds of thousands of dollars of our tax dollars who will leave our community with heavy new land use regulations that will infringe on our property rights and substantially increase our tax base and utility bills to fund it!

As a matter of fact 73 percent of all that attended the three day Charette disagreed or strongly disagreed with the plan that McBride, Dale and Clarion have devised at the behest of many citizen objections!

The results: Compiled from a review of surveys provided by planners at the Charette. (Video was taken of the surveys and complied in another setting!)

Northern Corridor- 85.7% disagree/strongly disagree
Central Corridor- 70.1% disagree/strongly disagree
Southern Corridor- 63.5% disagree/strongly disagree
Growth and Strategies- 56.5% disagree/strongly disagree

Summary- 73.1% of Bradley County/Cleveland residents in attendance disagree/strongly disagree with the BCC Strategic Growth/Comprehensive Plan

“I was very proud to see so many citizens of Bradley County show up in force to speak out against the terribly expensive and overreaching BCC Comprehensive Growth Plan” said Donny Harwood, Tea Party of Bradley County founder and organizer, while attending the Charette.

Many “regular citizens” among them, concerned, tax paying and voting Tea Party types also filed into the Charette! Many were upset for different reasons. The construction and plans around exit 20, the encroaching business parks being built around their homes, road supervisors saying your fence and trees need to come down, many in the McDonald area, hwy 60 business owners who will lose property, people upset a fence has to go around a creek so cattle can’t walk through it, people who dont want to be annexed or rezoned or dont want a commercial business in their back yards, citizens fined by the EPA, resounding constant chatter regarding property rights and the businesses getting chosen and given tax breaks the “regular” business person doesn’t get, the cost of the project and a whole slew of other concerns permeated the mall.

My observation was the planners were overwhelmed with the negative response and were left attempting to explain away the reason the results, questionnaires and comment cards came back overwhelmingly negative on members of the tea party. We are citizens too, we just happen to be involved, engaged and vocal about our discontent with this plan! There was no gerrymandering and no agenda was set forth! We happen to know what is going on and you ask for public input and you got it, that’s all! There were also many employees on the city/county payrolls that filled out a few ballots too or you may not have gotten even 23% to agree with you on the plan!

Consultant Greg Dale was overheard saying he didn’t have time to tally the results of the public input portion of the Charette but quickly changed his tone to say he was joking when he found out that many around him wanted to see the results and were disappointed the results were not tallied for public view. He went on to say he has never seen such a negative response where so many in the community didn’t even want a plan!

Although I was there the majority of the time to oversee the Charette I met many for the first time and was very glad to see so many respond that were not in the Tea Party! I think it is a testament to our county that so many “grassroots” people are becoming involved in our local governments affairs!

We are no longer living in a time when we can ignore what our planners via our locally elected officials are doing. Our community has come alive and we are seeing what is happening and we are no longer going to take haphazard plans laying down. We live in a different time and our current environment calls for the citizens to act in a different way! We can no longer be silent as our local governments do as they please often overlooking the will of the people. Making enemies of your concerned citizens is easy. Listening to them, absorbing what they are saying, responding and thanking God every day that you have “watchmen on the wall” is the difficult part that very few practice!

It was overheard and reported to me that one of the planners was going to say that the Tea Party was stacking the surveys to look negative! My response to that accusation is if the response was overwhelmingly positive they would have had no problem reporting those findings! This is also tyranny folks, fear and intimidation from your government with repercussion for your actions! This is the sad part inside our Republic!

The accusation that the Tea Party stacked the votes is actually a compliment and a testament to the reason that tea parties were formed! Just as they were formed to protest a tax on tea from India, so be it we protest when a group of consultants and planners in coordination with their local government propose billions of dollars in cost to the taxpayer and a disrespect for their property rights!

The bottom line is the citizens, albeit some in the Tea Party, which is their well defined role, projected a positive affect on it’s community by speaking up and out about this grossly expensive and expansive growth plan delivered by out of town consultants for over a half a million dollars!

One thing that the planners, consultants and elected officials forget is that those “awful” tea party types are citizens too who are engaged, cast votes and just happen to speak up and show up when asked to for public input. This is called patriotism! This is the direct result of a Republic intact, not a socialist wanna be community where everyone listens to whatever the government says and the people agreeably nod!

The “politicians” of Bradley County should be proud of it’s patriotic people who show up when asked instead of villifying the ones who exercise their God given rights to direct their government when they step out of line. Any attempt to “make the Tea Party look bad” will be a direct push to stop a free people from freely addressing a grieveance of their government.

The Comprehensive Growth plan is not a popular one, but the overriding determining factor, regardless of the will of the people is the perceived “relief” our community gets when you bombard it with federal grants and the likes. We have seen over and over again that “spending our way out of debt” is not the answer! Smaller government, less taxes, the free market and higher accountability is the answer.

Any attempts at this point to squelch the voice of the people looks socialistic, communistic or perhaps Marxist! The best move is to stand with the people! The people are fully within their constitutional boundary to limit the size of their government and the influence they have on our daily lives.

The battle being waged should not be on the people but on the bureaucracy we call our standing government. History will stand in favor of the people, bureaucrats inside the government will fade like a silent whisper.

For now, step outside your tightly wrapped box and see that the people have spoken loudly! Try as you may but our voices will not succumb to tyrannical role players inside a rusty machine!
